The Committee, Members and Patrons of the Willaston Country Music Club have been greatly saddened by the recent passing of Darryl Eckert from Heartland. He was the band’s lead singer, and also played bass and rhythm guitar.
The Country Music industry of South Australia has lost an amazingly well respected and talented man, who has a reputation for giving his all and enjoying the journey.
We have been blessed with his entertaining performances on numerous occasions over the years and his friendships amid our folk are many.
He will be truly missed as he walks the rainbows and sings with the angels.
We all pass on sincere condolences to his wife, Gail, and family.

My heart goes out to Gail and the family, may Darryl rest in peace ❤

I’m so very sad to hear of Darryl’s passing. He and Heartland were always so supportive of me as an emerging artist and young musician. Always happy to back me in talent quests and country music club appearances. No matter the song (and the state of the chord charts haha) Darryl was always a supportive and kind friend and fellow musician. Sending love to Darryl’s family and the SA country music community.

Can’t believe it 😢 💔 I have had so many great moments with Darryl and Heartbeat over the years, he was such a great guy. I’m so glad I knew him. My deepest condolences go out to my South Australian Country Music family. 🤍💟💔

My condolences to his loved ones 🤕
